Something Is Seriously Wrong In The U. S.

and it’s not just the gun laws

Today I just had enough and felt like crying. I don’t know what is going on anymore in this country.

It seems that women are undermined at every turn. The Supreme Court wants to turn the abortion issue back to the states but would do nothing to force them to provide good prenatal care and take care of those children.

Infant mortality is already terrible. The U.S. ranks 33rd worst of 36 OECD countries. Who will take care of all these unwanted children?

How trivial can our disputes get before someone finds it necessary to take someone’s life? I cannot even imagine the agony this young woman’s family must feel. Her parents must be unable to understand that their daughter had to die like this.

When will common sense and civility return to America? I see only more division in the future. Overturning Roe v. Wade is troubling, not just because the impact on women but also because several judges lied about their stance during confirmation hearings.

How can we foster civility and trust in our nation if some of the highest judges in the land are liars, if the truth and standing by one’s word means nothing?

Now we have politicians like Lauren Boebert claiming that the Constitution never called for the separation of church and state.

Bit by bit, hard-won rights are being retracted and dismantled.

I am trying to remain hopeful that the oldest and strongest democracy on earth will not fail. But believing that is getting harder every day.
