the Most Important Goal of this Quarter

This is my first post, and I hope I can do my best.Because I am an international students, my grammar may have some problems, and please forgive me.

For me, my most important goal in this quarter is to make a decision of my major. Nowadays the society becomes increasingly competitive, which leads to the reality that the pre-requisites of getting jobs are more and more strict and employers have higher standards to employees. That is to say, due to the lack of experience, it is hard for students to find suitable jobs after graduation, and when undergraduates or graduates students want to get a better job among the society, they need to understand the area of jobs deeply or become inter-disciplinary talents. In order to attain the standard, in my opinion, it is better for students to choose majors early, which will help them to prepare, enrich ad reserve knowledge about the area. Moreover, because I advocate that interest is the best teacher, and we need to do what we like in the future jobs, considering that deciding the major is the same as finding what I really like. When I am able to find my interests as soon as possible, I can set up a long-term target and confirm it. Under this circumstance, setting a few small goals in every quarter, I will know what I should do to achieve it and the distance between the present situation and the goal. Although there is a proverb saying that plans always fall behind changes, at least I can control most part of my future. As a result, I may establish many other aims in this quarter including practicing my English well, obtaining high GPA, and making lots of friends, but the above goal, I think, is the most important one.

I am always taught that don’t be the greatest talkers and least doers, so what I can do to achieve my target. First of all, owning the fact that I have already been interested in some majors, such as psychology, economy and accounting, as well as communication, I need to talk to the professor in those departments. Then, I can consult what the pre-requisites to enter the major, what I can learn in this major, and what kinds of jobs I can do. Asking some suggestions from seniors is also a feasible way to choose my major. Finally, I am able to choose my major according to the advice and my own thoughts. So in the next quarter, I can select the class for entering my major.
