Suggestions for Medium From a Professional Web Designer

Simple but impactful changes to improve our user experience

I have had my account here on Medium for a little over a year now and to be honest, didn’t spend too much time on the platform until later in 2021.

I created a profile and posted a couple of articles I had published on my blog that I thought would transfer over well.

Then, I didn’t touch my account for about ten and a half months. Why?

I spent a little bit of time poking around but never became a paid member.

I was hearing about writers making great money but I’d never considered myself a writer so it was hard for me to see any potential if professionals were making peanuts here. So I moved on to other endeavours.

And then like a little scratch that needed to be itched, the more and more research I did told me I might actually fit in perfectly here.

So I was determined to give it another shot.

I re-worked a couple of articles I had published but had 0 views and picked up traction trying to write every day to post as much as I could.

And guys, I’m hooked!

I’m really loving here! But I’ve noticed a few things.

As you don’t know me or my credentials, let me just lay this out here so I have some credibility with my following points.

For the past 6 years, I have been a web designer, blog developer, online marketing director, and graphic design freelancer.

I graduated in 2015 from an art school with a 3-year advanced diploma in graphic design. I worked a few years professionally in the industry before going out on my own as an independent artist.
