Take A Walk With Me

We all have aspirations or, at the very least, have had some. But, unfortunately, life does what life does, and somewhere along the way, we get lost. You know back in your earlier days as a child in school the teacher would ask you, what do you want to be when you grow up? And those generic answers of a doctor or a police officer were most kids’ choice. Not for me. I never wanted to put on a uniform and wear a badge or check heartbeats through a stethoscope. There’s nothing wrong with those occupations (for the most part), but that was never something I pictured for myself as a kid and still feel the same now.

The thing is, I wasn’t even sure of what I wanted to be; I remember people telling me the things I could be or should be or that I should contemplate pursuing, but none of those things held much weight in my eyes. Fulfilled is what I want to be. See, I realize that as someone who has a wandering mind that rarely shuts off because I’m always thinking most of the time, all I want is to be fulfilled. I don’t have to be a millionaire or billionaire to feel fulfillment because you can’t put a price on happiness. Those who choose to put a price tag on happiness are often trying to fill a void that they feel they cant fulfill themselves, so they throw money at it as if money is the solution.

Money can buy you all the materials your eyes desire, but it won’t necessarily fill the void. As someone who doesn’t know what it’s like to have substantial amounts of money, who didn’t come from a silver spoon, I see those with all the money they could want but still make a post to complain about something. And it’s not just one but many, whether you have money or not, problems will occur. They probably happen even more when you have money because the saying goes, “More Money More Problems.” But how would I know? I’ve never been a millionaire or held six figures up to my ear like a phone. But one thing that always stuck with me was Robin Williams.
