Embrace Your Inner Inspired Leader and Transform Your Team’s Potential
Introduction
Who doesn’t love a good underdog story? I remember watching on repeat as a kid The Mighty Ducks, where a group of kids face countless obstacles, from rival teams to their own self-doubt. Yet, through sheer perseverance, teamwork, and unwavering belief, they defy expectations and prove that they are capable of achieving greatness. What’s not to love?!
But it wasn’t until I found myself sitting down to watch “The Mighty Ducks” again with my kids that a whole new perspective opened up to me. As the familiar story unfolded, I couldn’t help but notice the leadership styles exhibited by the film’s main character, Gordon Bombay, that had eluded me during my own childhood viewings.
Bombay demonstrates the importance of believing in the potential of his team members, even when they may doubt themselves. He sees the hidden talents within each player and encourages them to embrace their unique abilities. By instilling belief and confidence, Bombay empowers the Ducks to exceed their own expectations and embrace their underdog status as a source of motivation.
It got me thinking about leadership and applying Inspired Leadership and its principles in various domains, including the dynamic and ever-evolving business world.
Coupled with the recently loved Ted Lasso series, I have come to realise a leadership style that has gone under the radar for far too long… Inspired Leadership. So with this new phrase, I am here to share my view on Inspired Leadership and what it is, can be, and how we can all learn from it.

Inspired Leaders understand that true potential can only be unlocked when individuals feel seen, understood, and valued. They tap into the power of empathy, stepping into their team…
